Big Rock Investments - Hawaii real estate investors

People are always interested in real estate — it’s the one industry that will never fail to draw attention and get people talking. “What’s the market doing? Are prices doing up? What’s happening with foreclosures? Did you see that the mansion by the lake is up for sale? What’s the Fed doing to interest rates? Do you watch Flip This House or Property Brothers?”

But where do you actually go to learn about real estate in general and the latest market trends and strategies?

Real Estate Investment Education Sources

BiggerPockets.com – BP is a great site for just about everything when it comes to learning how to invest in real estate. Whether you want to learn about flipping houses, cash flow strategies or private lending, you’ll find it here. One of the strongest assets of the site is its active form and user community. It’s well known as the online meeting space for investors helping each other learn and succeed at real estate. I also suggest subscribing to their podcast. Feel free to connect with me on the site if you create an account!

FortuneBuilders.com – Of course, I have to include my mentors at FortuneBuilders since it’s where I got started. They offer an extensive real estate coaching mentorship program but there’s still plenty of great information on the daily blog if you don’t have dreams of being a full time investor.

REIAs — Real Estate Investor Associations exist in most metro areas and serve as gathering spots and education resources for area investors. From newbies to veterans, your local REIA can help you with others in your market who are already taking massive action, doing deals and investing in local, national and foreign markets. Find your local REIA and start connecting with local investors in your backyard.

Late Night Infomercials — Just kidding! :p

The most important thing if you’re interested in learning how to invest in real estate is just to take some form of action. Small or big, just do something. Wishing for things to change won’t get you anywhere. You don’t need to turn into an overnight Donald Trump to be “successful”, but you do need to put a plan of action into effect. For many people, getting started is the hardest part, but once you start the ball rolling you never what’s around the corner.
