I thought I’d take one page of ‘digital space’ here to briefly introduce myself. I’m originally from suburban Philadelphia and studied marketing at Penn State University, including a semester abroad at Tel Aviv University. After graduating, I found myself living in Washington, DC where I carved out a career in the I.T. (information technology) field for eight very enjoyable years. DC is a great region to live in. When I wasn’t at work, I was out hiking in Shenandoah, kayaking the Potomac River, rollerblading through the streets of the city or playing ice hockey at the local rinks (I’m a HUGE Philadelphia Flyers fan).
However, things change. I soon found myself earning a Master’s degree in geography from George Mason University. You see, I had been doing a lot of traveling — Ecuador, China, Israel, Dominica, to name a few — and needed to expand my horizons beyond the I.T. field. I soon took it one step further and moved to sunny Honolulu to work on a Ph.D. in coastal geography at UH.
But while that was a learning experience, it was ultimately not my calling. A future in academia became less and less appealing. I needed to GROW. I had so much creativity to use and passion to exert. Well, one thing led to another and before I knew it I was learning how to run a professional real estate investment company. I ultimately landed with my super mentors, the FortuneBuilders group in San Diego. I formed Big Rock Investments, LLC, to run the exact same systems-based business model as my FortuneBuilders mentors and the rest is history. My background in marketing and technology obviously helps keep me at the forefront in today’s digital age while my knowledge of coastal issues is certainly useful when working with beachfront homes. Somehow it all actually came together nicely! Life is crazy like that sometimes.
You’ll now find me working the business diligently alongside my partners and assistants. If I’m not working, you may catch me surfing at Cliffs below Diamond Head, lounging at Kaimana beach, salsa dancing in town or hiking one of Oahu’s highest peaks (Olomana is a current favorite – there’s no feeling like sitting atop the third peak).
